Major (Maj) Ryan Orozco, USMC, Retired -- Senior Marine Instructor (SMI)
Major Ryan Orozco has been the Senior Marine Instructor at Wilby High School since August 2022. A native of Mexico raised in Los Angeles, Calif., he retired from the Marine Corps in 2022 after 21 years of honorable service. As a Logistics Officer, Maj. Orozco served in a variety of operational unit, command, staff, and training positions in Afghanistan, Iraq, and around the world.
Maj. Orozco holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Southern California and a master of arts in international relations from New England College. He has graduated from numerous military leadership and technical schools.
First Sergeant (1stSgt) Jorge Montes, USMC, Retired -- Marine Instructor (MI)
1stSgt Jorge Montes has been the Marine Instructor at Wilby since March 2022. A native of Cuba raised in Miami, Fla., he retired from the Marine Corps in 2022 after 22 years of honorable service. As a Supply Chain and Material Management Specialist, 1stSgt Montes served in a variety of operational unit positions in Afghanistan, Iraq, and around the world. He has also served multiple assignments as a Drill Instructor and as a Senior Enlisted Advisor to a commander.
1stSgt Montes is a graduate of several military leadership and technical schools. He is actively pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in business administration.
